Taliban terror increases among Afghan population and military alike; gains control over 13 districts in 24 hours

Kabul: – The Afghan defence ministry announced that 143 Taliban terrorists died in the last 24 hours. But it is being observed that the terror of the Taliban is increasing in the Afghan population and the military alike. In the last 24 hours, the Taliban gained control over 13 districts in Afghanistan. Although not many casualties were reported in these conflicts, reports of hundreds of people migrating, given the Taliban terror from Kandahar, Kunduz, Jovazan provinces, are being received. Whereas 300 Afghan soldiers escaped into Tajikistan fearing Taliban attacks.

As per the information given by the Afghan and international organisations, a fierce conflict is continuing between the Taliban and the Afghan military in 15 Afghan provinces. As per the local media, the Taliban is going from strength to strength in southern, eastern and northeastern Afghanistan. It is claimed that the speed of the Taliban attacks increases with the speed of US and NATO military withdrawal. The Taliban terrorists are forging ahead in northeastern Afghanistan.   

In the last 24 hours, the Taliban have taken control of 13 districts in Afghan. An Afghan news agency informed that these include 11 districts in the northeast. The Taliban have taken over nine districts in the Badshakhan district alone. It is being claimed that the Taliban has established control over nearly half the 241 districts in Afghanistan.   

Reports are being received that the Taliban terror is becoming apparent in certain districts. After the Taliban took control of the Panjawai district in the Kandahar province, hundreds of Afghan citizens escaped towards capital Kabul and other adjacent districts. Fears are increasing in the locals that these terrorists are trying to Talibanize the regions. Therefore, the civilians in these regions are trying to take shelter in the regions under the control of the Afghan government. Two days ago, a similar incident was reported from the Kunduz province.   

One more instance of the Afghan soldiers escaping due to the fear of Taliban attacks. More than 300 Afghan soldiers fled into Tajikistan in northeastern Afghanistan, fearing a Taliban attack to seek asylum. Tajik military gave this information. A few days ago, a similar incident was reported from the Kunduz province. This has landed the trade route connecting to Tajikistan into the Taliban hands.  

Meanwhile, international thinktanks and analysts are warning that Pakistan should initiate efforts to establish peace in Afghanistan; otherwise, an unstable Afghanistan and Taliban regime will cause serious losses to Pakistan.
