Afghans will not be permitted to leave the country, orders Taliban

Kabul – ‘Foreign nationals must leave Afghanistan by 31 August. There are no restrictions on them. But Afghan citizens will not be allowed to leave the country. The Taliban warned that even western countries should not instigate highly educated Afghans. Panic has gripped Afghans since then, with crowds outside Kabul airport desperate to enter the airport.

Videos, photographs and news of inhumane acts by Taliban terrorists are raising fears among the Afghan people. Thousands of Afghans flock to Kabul airport every day. The Afghan people at the airport are reported to be begging NATO troops and foreign embassy officials to get them out of the Taliban regime. But Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid announced on Tuesday that the road leading to Kabul airport had been closed. ‘The route is closed to Afghans, and only foreigners can go to the airport. The Afghan people should return to their homes. The Taliban will take responsibility for their safety.’ said Mujahid. In front of the media, Mujahid also added, ‘ The United States should not encourage highly educated Afghan citizens to leave the country. Afghanistan needs doctors and engineers.’ Mujahid said that the Taliban had pardoned all those who have aided Western countries against the Taliban. Mujahid claimed that things of the past would not be dug up again. But videos of Taliban militants searching homes for their opponents are still surfaced. After being quizzed regarding the assassination of Afghan comedian Fazal Mohammad, Mujahid supported the assassination, saying Fazal was anti-Taliban.

Mujahid deviated from his statements on women’s rights, saying that women and young girls should not leave their homes. The Taliban spokesman announced last week that the rights of women and girls would be protected. But the new order made it clear once again that women were not safe under the Taliban regime. At the same time, Mujahid’s statement made it clear that no matter how liberal the Taliban claims to be, the terrorist organisation has not changed even a bit.
