Russian warship with hypersonic Zircon missiles positioned off the US coast – Ex-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warnsThe video released by the US Embassy conveyed that the Russian people were against the conflict in Ukraine. It also highlighted the cultural similarities between the US and Russia. Great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky and Leaders such as Leonid Brezhnev, Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin are mentioned in this video. Russia did not receive this well, and the former President of Russia, Medvedev, criticised and warned the US of serious consequences.

Medvedev warned that a Russian warship armed with a Zircon missile range of 500-1000 kilometres was stationed just 100 miles off the coast of the US. He also warned the NATO countries that they were on Russia’s target. On previous occasions, Medvedev has been critical of the US and the European countries for providing aid to Ukraine and warned them of serious consequences. If Russia were attacked, then London and Washington would not remain safe as Russia has the capability to retaliate without hesitation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly warned that the conflict in Ukraine could escalate into a nuclear war. Also, the President of Russia is aware that the military assistance provided by the US to Ukraine will lead to a direct confrontation of the Russian army with the US forces on Ukrainian land. Despite the possibility of nuclear escalation and direct military conflict, the US has continued and increased military aid to Ukraine. In such a situation, on Saturday, the US announced additional three billion dollars of military aid to Ukraine. This is expected to evoke a stronger reaction from Russia. It seems that the US is provoking President Putin by inciting the Russian people against the leadership of Russia.

With the latest developments, there are indications that Russia will become more aggressive in the conflict in Ukraine. It’s likely that along with the US, the European countries which are members of NATO could feel the heat of Russian aggression.
