Russia tests nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile

Moscow: Russia tested nuclear capable Sarmat Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) on Wednesday. Russia claims that the missile is capable of carrying 10 explosives simultaneously. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that this test will make the enemy think twice before taking any decisions against Russia. Russia has warned the western countries along with Ukraine, with this successful test, at a time when the Ukraine war has completed 58 days.

The missile, referred to as invincible by the Russia President, travels at 16,000 miles per hour. Russia was working on the development of this nuclear capable ICBM since the last few years. The United States and NATO were monitoring the development very closely. The western countries have already expressed a concern that the Sarmat missile is a threat to their security. In this scenario, Russian military tested this missile from an underground silo. European as well as important US cities are within the range of this missile. Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the test. He said that the testing of Sarmat is a big and important development for the Russian military. President Putin claimed that this missile will dodge the most advanced air defence systems in the world.

This is really a unique missile and this will augment the capability of the defence forces. President Putin warned that this missile will ensure the safety of Russia from external threats and those challenging Russian security based on aggression will have to think twice. Putin expressed confidence that every air defence system will fail in front of this missile.

Rogozin said that this test is a warning for NATO and the Nazis in Ukraine. Russia had earlier accused that the Zelensky government in Ukraine is a Nazi supporter. The chief of the Russian space institute seems to be reiterating the accusations.

Russia has been warning since the last few days that if the Ukraine war festers it will culminate into a nuclear war. The European countries have been rocked with this. While the situation has become explosive in Europe, the United States and NATO are accusing the Russian leadership of being irresponsible. In this scenario, with this test of the nuclear capable missile, Russia has pointed out that the warning issued by it regarding the nuclear war is not an empty threat.
