According to the results announced on Wednesday evening, the Republican Party won 218 seats. This victory signals that President Joe Biden will have to fight hard to implement his agenda for the next two years. Kevin McCarthy, the leader of the Republican Party, clarified that the Biden administration would be cornered on the issues of inflation, increasing crime and the security of the US borders.

The results of last week’s mid-term elections have now been almost clear. The ruling Democratic Party has managed to retain its control of the Senate, known as the upper house of Congress.
