Pakistani delegation participates in a program related to Holocaust in Israel

Jerusalem: A delegation from Pakistan also participated in the program to inform about the genocide of Jews during the Second World War. Besides, claims are being made in Pakistan that the Holocaust, i.e. the genocide of the Jews, did not happen in the Second World War but that it was a conspiracy planned by the Jews to gain sympathy. Countries that do not recognise the existence of Israel include Pakistan, and a line is printed on Pakistan’s passport as invalid for Israel. But for the past few years, Pakistan has demanded recognising Israel and improving relations. Although this is strongly opposed, Pakistan seems to be taking steps in this direction. The presence of Pakistan’s delegation at the event in Israel indicates this.

Moreover, a non-governmental organisation called ‘Sharaka’ organised a special program to dispel misconceptions about the Holocaust. A delegation including religious leaders, intellectuals, journalists and some dignitaries of Pakistan participated in this. A Pakistani journalist who participated in the delegation admitted that there are huge misconceptions about the Holocaust in Pakistan. The journalist also admitted a feeling of intolerance towards Jews in Pakistan.

Furthermore, diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Israel have not yet been established. But for this, there are occasional attempts by both countries. Especially when Pervez Musharraf was the President of Pakistan, it was revealed that he had taken steps towards this.

But the hardliners in Pakistan opposed Musharraf and thwarted these efforts. Later, Imran Khan’s government also started activities for this. He faced bitter opposition at that time as well.

It seems that Pakistan’s delegation, which participated in the program related to the Holocaust, has also received strong criticism from this country. On this occasion, the accusation that Pakistan’s leaders are secretly joining Israel has started once again.
