Pakistan’s Army Chief admits country’s condition is ‘fragile’

Islamabad: General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief, has admitted that Pakistan is currently going through a delicate phase. Pakistan’s army chief stated that the country is currently fragile due to the dual issues of terrorism and economic collapse. However, the announcement made by the terrorist organization ‘Tehrik-i-Taliban’ has revealed that Pakistan is not in a fragile position. However, the very existence of this country is in danger. Tehrik has announced its government in the country and appointed cabinet members. While there are reports that the Tehrik is challenging Pakistan’s sovereignty, the claims of the resignation of around five thousand soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army have created a sensation.

Pakistan's Army Chief admits country's condition is 'fragile'Tehrik has broken the ceasefire with the Pakistan Army and carried out terrorist attacks in the country. The number of Pakistan Army officers and soldiers killed in Tehrik attacks is increasing daily. At the same time, insurgent organizations in Balochistan have also increased the intensity of attacks on the Pakistan Army. This forced Pakistan to announce strict action against terrorists. In the ‘National Security Committee-NSC’ meeting held last Friday, the Prime Minister and members of the Pakistan Cabinet announced that the terrorists would be defeated. Bilawal Bhutto, Pakistan’s foreign minister, had warned that his country would root out terrorism. But no one in Pakistan is ready to believe his claims.

A few days ago, a video went viral on Pakistani social media. It was revealed that about 5,000 soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army had resigned. Currently, Tehrik has launched terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces of Pakistan. There are claims that all of them are trying to save their lives by resigning from the Pakistani army out of fear of it. Due to this video, there was a sensation in Pakistan. After that, the Pakistan Army and the NSC meeting announced strict action against terrorists. Even as Pakistan’s leaders are warning of aggressive action against terrorism, the Tehrik has announced the formation of a government in Pakistan. According to this, Tehrik has formed its cabinet and announced that it had formed ministries of defence, justice, information, political affairs and economic affairs. There has been criticism that General Munir has launched a propaganda campaign, especially against the former prime minister, Imran Khan, and his party leaders. Imran Khan has made serious allegations against former army chief Bajwa. Imran Khan criticized that though Bajwa retired from the post of the army chief, he was still targeting him.

Moreover, Imran Khan has accused former Army Chief Bajwa of commissioning ex-Ambassador to the US, Husain Haqqani, to defame him. Therefore, the journalists of this country are expressing their regret that Pakistan’s ruling and opposition parties are currently happy in making dirty accusations against each other. Pakistan’s economy has gone into the abyss and no country is ready to lend to Pakistan, which has only six billion dollars in foreign reserves. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had recently admitted that he had no choice but to accept the conditions placed before Pakistan by the IMF. After accepting the terms of the IMF, there will be a new wave of high inflation in Pakistan. The opposition is scrambling to take advantage of this. It is unlikely that Pakistan will have the unity needed to deal with the economic crisis and terrorism.

Army Chief General Asim Munir seems to have accepted the reality to some extent by admitting that Pakistan’s situation has become fragile in such a situation. But in reality, the situation in Pakistan has become much more frightening than what he says. While Tehrik terrorists have challenged the sovereignty of this country by announcing the formation of the government in Pakistan, the intellectuals of this country are claiming that Pakistan is not just fragile but is nearing a total breakdown. Thus, analysts claim that everyone who can is ready to leave Pakistan and flee to another country.
