Continuing nuclear negotiations with Iran post-Irbil attack will be dangerous: former Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu

Jerusalem: – Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned, ‘Iran launched missile attacks on the premises of the US high commission in Iraq. The hurried approach of the United States to sign the nuclear deal with Iran is not only a foolish act but is also extremely dangerous.’ The former Israeli Prime Minister claimed that Iran would become nuclear power in the next three years, given the nuclear deal proposed by the Biden administration.

Massive missile attacks were carried out in Irbil city, the capital of the Kurdistan province of Iraq, on Sunday. The attacks targeted the area of the US high commission. Iranian Revolutionary Guards accepted the responsibility for the attack on their website. Revolutionary Guards also threatened that there would be a strong retaliation if Israel targeted any Iranian interests.

Lebanon based Arabic news agency claimed that four officials of Mossad were killed in the attack. The news agency said that there was a female official among those killed. Iran and Israel have not endorsed the claim. But former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticised Iran for the attacks on Irbil in his video posted on social media. Netanyahu pointed out that Iran has targeted US interests in the Middle East while the United States and European countries are making efforts for the Iran nuclear deal.

The former Israeli Prime Minister claimed that the nuclear deal offered by the Biden administration to Iran is more dangerous than the 2015 nuclear deal. Netanyahu warned ‘Iran will be relieved of sanctions as per the new deal and will be provided funding worth hundreds of billions. Iran will use this money to spread terrorism in the Middle East and worldwide. This new nuclear deal will strengthen the Iranian nuclear program. This will make enriched uranium to make dozens of nuclear bombs available to Iran and the Iranian intercontinental missile, which can reach any part of the United States will be tipped with nuclear weapons.’

It is claimed that the nuclear deal between the United States, European countries and Iran has reached the final stages. Although the Biden administration is keen on signing the agreement, Iran has laid more conditions for the deal. The United Kingdom and France are warning that this delay in signing the agreement may close a window for Iran. But Israel and Arab countries have taken an uncompromising stand that the Biden administration should not sign the nuclear deal with Iran. US lawmakers are also against the Iran nuclear deal and have warned that the Biden administration is losing out on Israel and Arab allies due to this agreement.
