Negotiating with Israel is Saudi Arabia’s unpardonable mistake: Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei

Tehran: ‘Negotiating with the treacherous, lying and tyrannical government of Israel is an unpardonable mistake on the part of Saudi Arabia. Saudi has betrayed the faith of the Palestinian people because of this’, was the vitriolic criticism showered on Saudi Arabia by the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei.

Two days ago, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman created a sensation by declaring that the Jewish people had a right on their land. By objecting to this statement, the Iranian religious leader lashed out at Saudi Arabia.

‘A few Middle Eastern Arab leaders have adopted a uniform policy to team up with Israel and their moves to get closer to Israel are being slowly exposed. These countries have betrayed the Palestinian people by teaming up with Israel. This can cause a setback to the Palestinian people’s resistance against Israel’, criticised Khamenei.

Thus, the Iranian religious leader rebuked Saudi Arabia and its allies. For the last few months, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries have supported Israel on the issues of Iranian nuclear treaty and the Iranian military bases in Syria. At the same time, a few Saudi leaders had even indicated supporting Israel in its efforts to stop the Iranian nuclear program. This was a clear indication of Saudi Arabia and its allied Arab countries, aligning against Iran.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during his visit to the United States, created a sensation by declaring that Saudi was not opposed to the Jewish people and that the Jewish people had a right on their land. Saudi’s Crown Prince Mohammed had also praised Israel for the large size of its economy, in spite of being a small sized country. Following that, Prince Mohammed also claimed that the interests of Saudi and the other Arab Countries with Israel were similar.

Hamas leader Haniyeh and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to meet

Against the background of the melee between Israel and Palestine, Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the extremist Palestine organisation Hamas, visited Iran and met the Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei for discussions. At this time, Khamenei announced that it was the religious duty of every Islamic person to support the Palestinian struggle against Israel.

The Hamas Chief’s Iran visit is attracting attention of the experts against the background of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed taking a pro-Israel stand. The Haniyeh-Khamenei meeting gains importance in view of the Hamas preparations for another protest march, dashing against the Israel borders.
