Tokyo: – The Japanese navy held exercises preparing for its security to counter the possibility of China attempting to seize the Senkaku Islands soon. While speaking to local media, Japanese government sources revealed information about the exercises for the security of the Senkaku Islands. The exercise took place last month, on November 20th. Japanese naval destroyers, as well as Coast Guard patrol boats, participated in the two-day exercise. The focus of the exercises was to respond to the possibility of foreign destroyers infiltrating the Senkaku Islands.

Moreover, Japanese government sources avoided the mention of China. But it is clear that this exercise was carried out given the threat posed by China. The Senkaku Islands are under Japanese administration. But China is claiming its rights over these islands, referring to them as Diaoyu Islands. China had sent destroyers and patrol boats to the Senkaku Islands. A few years ago, Chinese nationals tried to land on the Senkaku Islands and unfurl the Chinese flag. At the time, the United States and its European allies had backed Japan.

Since the past few days, Japan has made its military strategy aggressive. Japanese leaders say Japan’s security is linked to Taiwanese security. Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has warned that a Chinese attack on Taiwan would be suicide for China. A few days ago, Japan increased its defence spending by underlining the threat posed by China. Meanwhile, it is now being claimed that Japan is warning China by revealing details of the exercise last month for the safety of the Senkaku Islands. The Chinese aircraft carrier is currently sailing in the Indo-Pacific region and its fleet. Military analysts say that the sailing of this warship two days ago through the Miyako Bay near the Japanese island of Okinawa was a warning to Japan. In such a scenario, analysts pointed out that Japan has released information about the exercise held nearly a month ago.
