12 Iranian missiles landed in Irbil, the capital of Kurdistan, on Sunday early in the morning. The Missiles landed in the area near the US High Commission. The attack reported no casualties, but significant damages were caused in the High Commission compound and other surrounding buildings. Iranian Revolutionary Guards accepted the responsibility for the attack on their website. It announced that the attack targeted the secret Israeli base in Irbil.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards accused that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was using this base to launch attacks on the locations of the Iran affiliated groups from Syria. Iranian leaders and military officials claimed that this was the base used for establishing the drone attack in the Kermanshah region of Iran. Brigadier General Ramazan Sharif, the spokesman of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, threatened the Iraqi province of Kurdistan in this matter.

Brigadier General Ramazan Sharif warned that if Israel, posing a challenge to the Iranian security, sets up a base in Iraq, and the Iraqi officials do not take action against it, this will become a Red Line for Iran. It is Iranian prerogative to destroy these locations and Iran will not hesitate to act.’

Whereas General Mohammad Tehrani Moghadam, Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, directly threatened the Arab nations over the issue. General Moghadam warned ‘Arab nations should not allow Israel to set up bases in their territory. If this happens, Iranian missile will land on the Arab territory.’ At the same time, he threatened that the US military deployed in Iraq should be withdrawn. A few days ago, two commanders of the Revolutionary Guards were killed in an Israeli attack in Syria. The Revolutionary Guards said that the Irbil attack was in retaliation of this attack. But last month, Israel had launched an attack on the primary drone manufacturing facility in Iran. Israeli military analysts are claiming that an infuriated Iran carried out the Irbil attack to avenge the Israeli attack.

Meanwhile, Iran had accused even earlier that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad has a secret base at Irbil in Iraq. Israel did not react to the accusation, but a leading US newspaper claimed that the hidden conflict between Israel and Iran has been open with the Irbil attack.
