By blocking off US from Persian Gulf, Iran has cut US hand: Iran Consultative Assembly Speaker

Tehran: – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran, declared that Iran has axed the arms of the United States by denying entry to its patrol vessels in the Persian Gulf. If Iran shows the same aggression, the US navy will never enter the Persian Gulf sector and the US movements will not affect this sector. At the same time, Ghalibaf appealed that the countries from the region should cooperate with Iran in this action against the United States. Two days ago, Iranian patrol ships sailed dangerously close to the US patrol ships in the Persian Gulf. This reaction of Ghalibaf has come after that.

On Monday, an Iranian patrol vessel sailed at a distance of only 62 metres from the US ship USCGC Baranoff in the northern part of the Persian Gulf, where the ship is patrolling. After a little while, three Iranian patrol vessels sailed near the US vessel. After that, the US ship had to fire warning shots to warn the Iranian patrol ships. The US navy has published a video of the incident and criticised that the Iranian vessels are sailing dangerously close to its patrol ships.

Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and a Presidential candidate, has made some different claims. Ghalibaf said that the Iranian ships stopped the US ship from sailing to the northern part of the Persian Gulf. Ghalibaf said that this Iranian step was to protect its marine region and warned that such actions would continue to be taken. Ghalibaf appealed that the sector has suffered major financial losses due to the deployment of the US and other foreign ships. The threat and insecurity in the sector have increased due to the presence of these foreign warships. Time has come for the countries in the region to come together, to evict these foreign ships from the region.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran, has been an official in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Ghalibaf is known as an associate of General Qasem Soleimani, former Chief of Revolutionary Guards, assassinated last year, and an extremist leader. In 2017, Ghalibaf had filed his nomination in the Presidential elections held in Iran against Rouhani. There is a strong possibility that Ghalibaf, having the support of the Revolutionary Guards, will file his nomination in the upcoming Presidential elections.

Meanwhile, discussions are being held regarding the Iranian nuclear program, between the United States and Iran, in Vienna, for the last three weeks. Reports are being received through the Iranian media that Iran rejected the proposal given by the Biden administration for relaxation of the sanctions. At such a time, Iran seems to have issued a warning to the Biden administration with this sailing of the Iranian patrol vessel close to the US patrol ship.
