Tehran: – General Rahim Noei-Aghdam of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards threatened ‘In the past the presence of US warships in the Persian Gulf, was considered to be a threat for Iran. But now the situation has changed as Iran is in possession of missiles and ability to destroy the US warships.’ A leading Iranian news agency published this news. A few days ago, the United States deployed its gigantic aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in the Persian Gulf. The US Central Command announced that this deployment is in view of the increasing Iranian threat. General Aghdam threatened the United States referring to this deployment.
General Aghdam said ‘US warships are known as the US military bases outside the United States. These include fighter jets, helicopters and aircraft carriers equipped with nuclear weapons and missiles. Deployment of such aircraft carriers, in the marine regions near Iran, were considered to be a threat for the Iranian security. But now Iran is in possession of various types of missiles to sink these aircraft carriers.’
Only a few days ago, Iran fired a long-range missile in the Persian Gulf. This missile landed nearly 100 kilometres from USS Nimitz. Whereas, a few months ago, Iran had bult a replica of the US aircraft carrier, in the Strait of Hormuz, and practiced attacking the warship with missiles.
