Indian military fully ready to take over PoK

Poonch: Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Northern Command of the Indian Army, announced that the Indian Army is fully prepared to take over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) if the central government issues the orders. A few days ago, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that India’s development journey would not be complete unless it reaches Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Lieutenant General Dwivedi cited the statement while answering the question asked by the journalists. For the past few months, India has been raising the issue of Pakistan’s illegal occupation of PoK. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had said that India’s development journey could not be completed without the participation of PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Also, the defence minister had warned that Pakistan would have to pay the price for the atrocities committed on the Indian people in PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistan’s media took serious note of it and claimed that India was preparing to attack PoK.

However, Lieutenant General Dwivedi pointed out that there is nothing new in what the Defence Minister said and that the country’s parliament has approved the resolution that Gilgit-Baltistan, along with PoK, is the territory of India. Therefore, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi has indicated that if the Indian Army takes action to regain the territory of its own country, it does not constitute an attack on another country.

There are still more than 300 terrorists in the Kashmir Valley and 82 of them are from Pakistan. The number of locals is 53. The identity of the remaining 170 is still unknown. But security forces are working in Jammu and Kashmir in such a manner that any of them will not get a chance to move. Army has been successful in controlling terrorist activities. The Chief of the Northern Command pointed out that Pakistan changed its tactics after this. Lieutenant General Dwivedi pointed out that Pakistan is currently targeting common people by smuggling pistols, grenades and narcotics instead of big weapons. US study groups had already warned that if there is a major terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir in the future, war will break out between India and Pakistan. Talks have started in Pakistan that India has become ready for war and will take over Gilgit-Baltistan along with PoK at any moment. KJS Dhillon, former head of the Northern Command, was asked a question by someone from PoK on social media. ‘If India regains this territory from Pakistan, will India allow its people to stay here, or will they have to go to Pakistan?’ was the question asked by the person.

Locals and leaders here also regret that Pakistan is ignoring PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan as much as possible. For more than seven decades, Pakistan has completely neglected the development of this region and its people have to bear the dire consequences. At the same time, locals are complaining that the area has become more insecure due to the activities of Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. Now, people are expressing their anger through demonstrations.

In such a situation, the statements made by Indian leaders and military officers regarding PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan become noteworthy.
