Doha: India is emerging in such a way that no social group will be left behind. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his belief that no one can hinder India’s development journey. The Vice President, who is on a two-day visit to Qatar for the inauguration of the FIFA World Cup, gave this message while interacting with the Indian community here. There are millions of Indians living in Qatar. Due to them, the relationship between India and Qatar has become stronger. Every Indian contributes to the country’s development and is very proud of these expatriate Indians spread worldwide. The Vice President believed that these overseas Indians were the country’s ambassadors. Vice President Dhankhar also praised the infrastructure facilities in Qatar and congratulated Qatar’s leadership for this.

The Vice President also pointed out that around eight lakh Indians work in this sector. Meanwhile, during his visit to Qatar, Vice President Dhankhar met and discussed with the leaders of other countries. Vice President Dhankhar also held talks with United Nations Secretary-General Anthony Guterres.

The Ministry of External Affairs has informed that India and Qatar have good relations and both countries provide valuable cooperation to each other in many fields. These include trade, investment, energy security, defence, health and cultural and educational cooperation. In particular, the Ministry of External Affairs has claimed that Qatar plays a big role in India’s energy security. India imports large quantities of natural gas from Qatar every year. At the same time, India has been providing very important cooperation for the food security of Qatar and other Middle Eastern countries, the Ministry of External Affairs of India informed. Next year India and Qatar will complete 50 years of diplomatic relations.
