Hizbul Mujahideen's third-ranking leader Imtiaz Alam killed in Pakistan - Pakistani media accuses Indian intelligence agencyImtiaz Alam was involved in launching terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, running an online disinformation campaign against India, and bringing together Hizbul, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other terrorist organisations. Besides, he had set up his system to spread hatred against India by advocating fundamentalism in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, Imtiaz Alam had started terrorist training camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to carry out attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. There were also claims of him preparing to attack Jammu and Kashmir.

Moreover, Imtiaz Alam was among the terrorists declared ‘Most Wanted’ by India. Indian security agencies were searching for Imtiaz Alam, the mastermind behind the attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. But he was in the city of Rawalpindi, the headquarters of the Pakistan Army. The two unidentified assailants dispersed after shooting Imtiaz Alam at a close range around Monday night while he was standing outside a shop.

Though Imtiaz Alam was rushed to the hospital, it revealed he was already dead. It seems that the terrorist organisation was thus shocked as the third-ranking leader of Hizbul Mujahideen got killed this way. Pakistan’s notorious intelligence agency ISI, which supports and advises Hizbul and other terrorist organisations, has also been shocked by Imtiaz’s death. There have been reports that the ISI has started investigating the attack. Furthermore, newspapers in Pakistan accused India’s intelligence agency RAW of being behind the attack.

Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Zahoor Mistry, involved in the Kandahar plane hijacking case, had also been killed by unknown assailants. Moreover, Pakistani media alleged that RAW was behind it at that time. Pakistan had alleged that India’s intelligence agency was also behind the blast outside the house of Hafiz Saeed in Lahore, who carried out the 26/11 attack on Mumbai. But, there has been no evidence from Pakistan to prove these allegations.
