During the interview while criticising the settlements build by Israel, he appealed both sides to make major compromises for a concrete solution.

‘I can firmly say that as of now there are no efforts for peace in Palestine. They are not making efforts for peace. At the same time, it can’t be said with confidence, that Israel is making any efforts for peace. Therefore, there is no alternative but to wait and watch the developments.’ President Trump expressed his displeasure over both the leaderships in these words. He openly criticised the settlements being developed by Israel.

‘The settlements being developed by Israel is a very complicated matter and have always been an obstacle for the peace process. Israel needs to be more careful about the issue,’ warned the US President. Trump also expressed a desire that there should be a ‘decisive agreement’ between Israel and Palestine to end the conflict.

‘It will be foolish on the part of Israel and Palestine not signing the agreement. This is the last opportunity and if it is not taken nothing can be done in the future,’ in these words the US President issued the final warning.

President Donald Trump created a sensation in the world by declaring Jerusalem as the Israel capital, in last December. President Trump had supported this decision saying ‘This becomes a historical decision; the United States and the international community should have taken this decision much earlier.’ Israel had welcomed the decision. But, the international community including Palestine had reacted strongly against it. Britain, France and the other European allies also had opposed this decision.
