Coronavirus cases in the world cross 3 million, British Prime Minister rings warning bells

Baltimore/London: Coronavirus has claimed 208,074 lives around the world and the number of cases has crossed 3 million. 45,000 new cases were added around the world, in a day. The number of cases in the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Germany and Brazil are on the rise and the British Prime Minister has warned his countrymen that the threat of the pandemic will increase further.

John Hopkins University informed that the pandemic claimed 1,330 lives in the United States. Earlier, 2,494 deaths were reported on Saturday and 1,258 deaths were reported on Friday. The total number of deaths in the United States has reached 54,841, whereas 118,000 patients have been cured.

The pandemic has claimed 122,644 lives in Europe and the maximum number of deaths have been reported from Italy. 260 deaths were reported from Italy and 331 patients died in Spain, in the last 24 hours. Both these countries have started relaxing the restrictions imposed in the lockdown, saying that there has been a decrease in the number of cases and deaths in the country, as compared to the last few weeks. A total 26,644 deaths have been reported from Italy and 23,521 deaths have been reported from Spain.

In the last 24 hours, 350 deaths have been reported from the United Kingdom, taking the total number of deaths to 20,732. Although there has been a decrease in the number of deaths, as compared to the other European countries, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson clarified that the restrictions of the lockdown will not be relaxed. Prime Minister Johnson warned that if the lockdown is not followed strictly, the United Kingdom will be hit by another wave of the pandemic.

More than 10,000 patients have died in the Middle East and the maximum number of deaths have been reported from Iran and Turkey. The Iranian government informed that there were 96 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 5,806. But it is being claimed that the actual number of deaths exceeds the declared numbers by a huge margin. 99 deaths were reported from Turkey in the last 24 hours and the total number has reached 2,805. The number of new cases is rising rapidly in Turkey and 2,500 cases were reported in the last 24 hours. Turkey currently has 110,000 Coronavirus cases in the country.

The pandemic has claimed 6,321 lives in Latin America. A maximum number of deaths have been reported from Brazil and the maximum number of Coronavirus cases also are in the same country. As compared to the statistics of deaths in the Latin American countries, 4,298 deaths have been reported only from Brazil. There are 63,328 Coronavirus cases in Brazil and the total number of cases in Latin America have reached 138,483. Despite this, Brazilian President Bolsonaro is not willing to impose a lockdown in the country. He is facing severe criticism over this decision.

1,431 Coronavirus deaths have been reported from the African countries and there are 32,887 cases. 425 deaths have been reported from Algiers and 317 deaths have been reported from Egypt. It is claimed that the situation in the African countries in terms of cases and deaths will be worse that the situation in Latin America, the United States, Europe and the Middle East because it has been reported that at least ten African countries do not even have ventilators to treat Coronavirus patients.
