China offers a three-point proposal to resolve Israel-Palestine conflict

Beijing: China has proposed recognising Palestine as an independent country by accepting the borders from 1967 and declaring East Jerusalem the Palestinian capital. This proposal of Chinese President Xi Jinping to end the problem of Israel and Palestine will make Palestine happy. However, Israel may respond sharply to this, as it has also rejected such offers in the past.

On Wednesday, Palestinian President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas met President Xi Jinping during his visit to China. President Xi Jinping announced a strategic partnership with Palestine, calling the country a good friend and ally of China. The Chinese President has announced that he will make efforts to ensure that Palestine gets full membership of the United Nations. At the same time, President Xi Jinping said that China would prominently raise the issue of independent Palestine in various international meetings.

Besides, China is eager to strengthen cooperation with Palestine in this changing environment. At the same time, China is working on a permanent solution towards the Palestine problem, President Xi Jinping claimed. After this, the Chinese President presented a three-point proposal for Israel-Palestine peace talks. It includes the issues such as declaring Palestine as an independent country and East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine by accepting the boundaries from 1967.

Furthermore, President Xi Jinping has made such demandeds to increase Palestine’s development and an increase in humanitarian aid and stopping Israel’s anti-Palestine provocative actionsons against Palestine. The Chinese President of China also proposed reconciliation between Gaza’s Hamas and Abbas’ Fatah groupparty of the West Bank’s Mahmoud Abbas. This proposal of Xi Jinping is will to please the Palestinian President and the Arab countries. ButHowever, Israel is expected to react sharply toover the 1967 border issue and of the division of Jerusalem.

Former US President Obama had also made a similar proposal to Israel earlier. Obama suggested that Israel adopt bi-nationalism the two-state solution by accepting the 1967 border. In return, Obama offered to guarantee Israel’s complete security. Israel rejected the Obama administration’s offer after realising that the situation in 1967 differed greatly from the situation at that time.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian leaders and the public are expressing their displeasure over the failure of the Biden administration to stand firm on the issue of Palestine and to put pressureise on Israel. There is also criticism that President Biden has also been criticised for faileding to fulfil his promises of meeting Mahmoud Abbas at the White House and opening thea consulate for High Commission of Palestineians in Jerusalem. In such a situation, Israeli- and AmericanUS analysts claim that China is trying to strengthen its position in the Middle East by interfering in the issues of Palestine, which has become significant for the Arab-Islamic countries.

China had already delivered a major blow tothwarted the USAmerican influence in the Middle East by courtingenebling a reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
