Kabul: – In the absence of President Ashraf Ghani, Vice President Amrullah Saleh declared himself as the interim President and gave a different turn to the events in Afghanistan. Amrullah Saleh is preparing to fight the Taliban delivering a message that they will not back out like the US and NATO forces.

Amrullah Saleh has taken refuge in the Panjshir province, controlled by the son of Afghan leader Ahmad Shah Massoud, a staunch opponent of the Taliban. Saleh had said that the struggle would begin by uniting the Afghans against the Taliban. There were reports that Taliban militants were trying to eliminate Saleh. But while other leaders are trying to save their lives by leaving Afghanistan, Saleh has taken a big risk and stayed in Afghanistan. This seems to be the emergence of a prominent leader who is wanted by the Taliban opposition.

In his message on social media, Amrullah Saleh expressed his displeasure regarding US President Joe Biden. There is no point in arguing the decision of US President Biden regarding the US military presence in Afghanistan. ‘The Taliban are not Vietnamese who defeated the United States,’ Saleh said. ‘Unlike the US and NATO, we have not given up hope. We still have great opportunities ahead of us. Now nonsense warnings will be of no use. Instead, join the fight against the Taliban,’ said Amrullah Saleh.

Although much of Afghanistan is now under Taliban control, anti-Taliban leaders such as Rashid Khan Dostum and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar are still influential in their area. it has been revealed that Saleh has appealed to them. ‘I will be in touch with all the leaders of Afghanistan. Their support and cooperation are expected in this struggle.’ Saleh added. With this, Saleh conveyed the message of forming a new military front against the Taliban. If he gets a response from Afghan leaders, a force could emerge that can counter the Taliban.

Amrullah Saleh, meanwhile, is a bitter opponent of the Taliban and Pakistan’s backing of the Taliban. The Taliban leader, who is now preparing for the conflict by declaring that he is the President of Afghanistan, seems to have given some relief to the opposition of the Taliban. If Saleh succeeds in uniting the Taliban’s opponents in times to come, the picture in Afghanistan could change once again.
