Kabul/ Beijing: 20 people were killed in a suicide attack by terrorists in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul. The blast occurred not far from the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs building and the Chinese embassies. The terrorist organization IS claimed responsibility for the attack. China strongly condemned the attack. Also, China expressed its belief that the regime of the Taliban will protect foreign citizens. Two days ago, a warning was issued that the intensity of attacks on Chinese citizens in Afghanistan would increase in the coming year. Against this backdrop, China seems to have become more vigilant about the security of its citizens in Afghanistan.

The terrorist had tried to gain entry into the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs building here. But after being intercepted by Taliban security guards, the terrorist detonated a suicide bomb on the spot. The Taliban’s police force claimed that five people were killed in this. But another Taliban leader said that at least 20 people were killed in the blast. At the same time, the photographs of this explosion have been released on social media. In this, dead bodies are seen scattered on the road.

The terrorist organization ‘IS-Khorasan’ claimed responsibility for the attack. The organization also claimed that 20 people were killed in its attack. Also, this organization claimed that the dead included diplomatic employees. This claim of IS could not be confirmed. But Afghan journalist Ayesha Ahmed said she lost her uncle, a senior diplomatic official, in Wednesday’s blast. Therefore, the seriousness of this accident has increased. Along with the Afghan Foreign Ministry building, the embassies of China and Turkey are also said to be close to the blast site.

Wenbin explained that China did not suffer any loss of life in this explosion. Wenbin also expressed his belief that the government of the Taliban in Afghanistan will protect the citizens of China and other countries from these terrorist attacks. But due to the casualties in Afghanistan, it is clearly seen that China’s concerns have increased enormously.

It is reported that a delegation from the Chinese Embassy was going to visit the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs building on Wednesday. The meeting was scheduled for the same time as the explosion outside the Foreign Ministry building. However, it is unclear whether the Chinese officials were in the embassy when the explosion occurred. But there is a strong possibility that IS carried out this attack to target Chinese diplomatic officials and citizens. If so, this would be the second IS attack targeting Chinese nationals in Kabul in the past month.

Earlier, IS terrorists had launched a fierce attack on a hotel in Kabul crowded with Chinese citizens. It was only after this that China raised the issue of the security of its citizens to the Taliban. In 2023, IS attacks on Chinese citizens in Afghanistan will increase several times, international analysts are warning. After that, this accident in Kabul on Wednesday is coming out as a warning for China.
