Pakistan’s strategic confusion would impend tragic consequences upon the world: International analyst

Tel Aviv/Islamabad: – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan is being criticised for surrendering to the terror groups viz. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the radical Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) by accepting their demands. It is also having repercussions at the international level. Sergio Restelli, a political analyst from Italy, expressed concerns and warned that Pakistan and the entire world would face the consequences.

Last week, Imran Khan reconciled with Labbaik. it is the organisation he kept accusing of extremism until a few days ago. He withdrew the ban on TLP and released hundreds of its supporters. While this decision of Imran Khan is facing heavy criticism, the Pakistan government announced a month-long ceasefire with the terrorist organisation TTP.

Sergio Restelli claimed that these decisions taken by the Imran Khan government have concerned the international community. He said that the repercussions of the actions by the TTP and TLP will be felt even outside Pakistan. The terrorist organisation TTP is active in the Pakistani area near the Afghan border. Restelli pointed out that TLP has adopted a harsh stand against western countries.

The then-dictator of Pakistan, Parvez Musharraf and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made efforts to rein in the terrorist organisations. They did not achieve any success. Therefore, Restelli suggests that nothing much will be achieved in the dialogue opened by the Imran Khan government with TTP and TLP. Restelli also warned that the Pakistan government had increased the problems on its plate by making the Haqqani network mediate for the ceasefire with the TTP. Haqqani network is an international terrorist organisation. Restelli pointed out that this could provoke a backlash on the international level.

Earlier, some responsible journalists from Pakistan also had warned that the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan should give up its soft stand against the terrorist and extremist organisations. But Imran Khan chose to ignore the warnings completely.
