US rulers and opposition will not come together even during war

Washington – Leading analysts warn that polarization in US politics is likely to reach a tipping point and that it will be impossible to reverse it. This issue has surfaced in the report prepared by the US military and National Science Foundation, in association with private groups. Professor Michael Macy warned that the polarisation in US politics would reach such a height that the two parties would not come together even in the event of a war or an epidemic.

The report, titled ‘Polarization and Tipping Point’, notes the bitter ideological differences between the Republicans and Democrats in the United States, the role of the parties and the growing intolerance. ‘Roles on issues like cooperation or global warming are also opposite. Instead of the two parties coming together on a major threat, that threat could lead to political polarization,’ Macy claimed.

The report published in the ‘Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences’ claimed that the ideologies of these parties, their stands and the disputes created from them are similar to the processes in a nuclear reactor. The researchers claimed that these processes could be controlled only up to a certain temperature, but then there will be an explosion leading to a meltdown.
