US cannot fool India by assisting Pakistan for F-16 – External Affairs Minister, S. JaishankarDuring the Cold War, the US supplied F-16 aircraft to Pakistan. Apparently, Pakistan is dependent on the US for its maintenance and repair. But former US President Donald Trump had stopped this military cooperation with Pakistan during his tenure. Trump took this decision by accusing Pakistan of secretly supporting the Taliban in the war against terrorism in Afghanistan. But the Biden administration has reversed this decision and announced a package of 45 crore dollars to Pakistan for F-16 aircraft. The US had declared that there was no reason for India to deviate from this by disclosing that these planes would be used for the war against terrorism and not against India.

Moreover, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar slammed the naive and tall claims of the United States. While interacting with the Indian community at an event organised in Washington, Jaishankar presented India’s position precisely. Pakistan will not use F-16 aircraft to attack terrorists, it will be used against India itself. At the same time, Jaishankar brought to the attention of the United States that it cannot fool India by giving such revelations in this regard. Also, due to similar policies of the United States, India’s cooperation with Russia has become stronger, and Jaishankar has clarified it through his statements. He further pointed out that the relationship between the United States and Pakistan has not been good for both countries. Jaishankar also pointed out that US policymakers are not ready to consider this experience.
