US augmenting Iran-Saudi tension using propaganda war

Tehran: Iran is taking positive steps to improve relations with its neighbouring Arab countries. The efforts are evoking a good response. In such a situation, the United States is working to increase the tension with Saudi by publishing fake news against Iran. Iranian Foreign Ministry has attacked that the United States is using propaganda war to create a hostile atmosphere against Iran in the Arab countries. A leading US newspaper had warned that Iran was preparing to attack Saudi Arabia. This is the Iranian reaction to the report.

Moreover, the US newspaper ‘The Wall Street Journal’ published the news that Iran may attack Saudi Arabia soon or even in the next 48 hours. The newspaper claimed that the Saudi intelligence department had informed the United States about this. Pentagon, the US defence headquarters, reacted to this news. The Pentagon had warned that the United States would use any option to secure its personnel deployed in the Middle East.

But, Iran termed the US newspaper report of a possible attack on Saudi Arabia as false. Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson of the Iranian foreign ministry, said the Western countries and Israel produce ‘Such one-sided news. This creates a hostile atmosphere against Iran in the Middle East and jolts the efforts to improve relations with the Arab nations.

Furthermore, Kanaani claimed, ‘Iran is trying to establish good relations with neighbouring Arab countries based on mutual respect and international norms. This can lead to stability and peace in the region. But such fake news only increases the tension between Iran and Saudi.’ At the same time, Kanaani explained that the United States, which has made such accusations against Iran, does not have any evidence. The Pentagon has also been reluctant to provide concrete information on the possible attack on Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, a few months ago, the leaders of Saudi Arabia also said that efforts are underway to establish cooperation with Iran. There were also reports of discussions between Iranian and Saudi officials.
