The intelligence agencies tracked a suspect with the code name SMB who was handling a network to kill Gellar for over two months. His network mainly consisted of Turkish and Iranian nationals. MIT, Turkey’s intelligence organisation, had kept the network on their radar.

As soon as MIT realised that assassins from Iran were preparing to execute their plan, they contacted Israel’s intelligence agency MOSSAD and relocated Geller to a safe house. Later MIT conducted operations at various places and arrested eight people. MIT has informed that one of the assassins from Iran is still on the run.

Turkey is going through an economic crisis, and they are focusing on improving relations with Israel and the Arab world. It is said that a separate meeting of the intelligence officials of both countries was held a few days ago.
