It was recently exposed that a few Pakistan military officers had hatched a plot to assassinate General Bajwa. 3 people were killed and 21 injured in the blast near the home of Hafeez Saeed, at Lahore, in Pakistan. It is reported that the Punjab police raided some places after this. As per information, one of the suspects has already been arrested. At the same time, Pakistan media has started accusing that India is behind the saboteur action. Hafeez Saeed was on the Indian target zone since the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The United States had eliminated Osama Bin Laden, with a surgical strike inside Pakistan. Pakistani journalists started claiming that India carried out this blast to eliminate Saeed on similar lines. Pakistani media or journalists have not been able to produce any evidence linking India to the blast.

Major upheavals have been reported in the Pakistan military just, before the blast on Wednesday. Some Pakistan military officials had hatched a plot to eliminate army chief General Qamar Bajwa. General Bajwa was scheduled to travel to Pakistan occupied Kashmir on 27th June. It was exposed that the plot was to kill him during this travel and a massive action was taken. 66 people from the Pakistan army were rounded up in Rawalpindi, on 19th June. These include 12 officers, 22 commandos and 30 soldiers.

Reports had been published in the Indian media regarding the conspiracy. But Pakistan media did not carry the reports themselves and said that rumours are being spread. Pakistan military has not confirmed the report. General Bajwa has been on target of some dissatisfied military officials, for a long time. Therefore, even the Pakistani journalists are forced to accept that there is a divide in the Pakistan military. But instead of discussing this on the national media, Pakistani journalists are preferring to post their thoughts regarding this report on the social media. General Bajwa was instrumental in making Imran Khan the Prime Minister of Pakistan. General Bajwa stabilised his post, with an extension of 3 years, granted by the Imran Khan government. One and a half year of the extended tenure is still remaining. This has disappointed certain officials aspiring to be chief of military. These disappointed officers are making moves against General Bajwa. It is also claimed that many serving officers also are not happy with General Bajwa and are preparing to challenge him. General Bajwa made these officers retire and removed the obstacles in his path. Moreover, General Bajwa did not let these officers to even avail the post-retirement benefits.

Infuriated by this, these officers hatched a plot to assassinate General Bajwa. Strong repercussions of this are being felt in Pakistan. This has started having an impact on the unity of the Pakistan military and reports are also being received that tension is mounting between General Bajwa and the current ISI chief Genera Faiz. General Faiz is keen on becoming the Pakistan army chief after General Bajwa and former Indian military officials claimed that he has struck a deal with Prime Minister Imran Khan for his purpose. Following the blast, a meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan with General Bajwa, General Faiz and other senior officials, was held at the headquarters of Pakistan intelligence agency ISI. After this meeting General Bajwa left for Turkey.

Some netizens claimed on the social media that the developments in the Pakistan military, the US military withdrawal and advances of Taliban in Afghanistan are interlinked. Till date, Pakistan has not officially made a military base available to the United States, to launch attacks in Afghanistan. Some Pakistan journalists are indicating on the social media that Pakistan will have to face consequences for this decision and the developments in Pakistan are just the beginning.
