The ‘LVM3’ rocket carrying 36 satellites took off from the launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota at 9 am on Sunday. 16 satellites separated from this rocket at a scheduled time and after that, the remaining satellites also stabilized in its orbit, ISRO informed. The launch was carried out by NewSpace India Limited-NSIL, the commercial arm of India’s space research agency, ISRO.

The United Kingdom’s OneWeb company had signed an agreement with ISRO to launch 72 satellites. 36 of these satellites were launched on October 23 last year. The remaining 36 satellites were launched on Sunday. This is a great success for ISRO’s NSIL. There have been reports that ISRO will get a whopping Rs 1100 crore in revenue from the launch.

Prime Minister Modi has said that India has further strengthened its position in the global satellite launch market, further highlighting the country’s self-reliance. ISRO chief S Somanath congratulated all the researchers and technicians for this success and appreciated their hard work.

Somnath claimed that the launch had further boosted the confidence of ISRO’s Gaganyaan mission. A rocket similar to ‘LVM3’ will be used for the Gaganyaan mission. Therefore, it is claimed that the success of Sunday’s launch is very important.

The satellite launch market was estimated at $16.7 billion in 2022. A report was published some time ago that this market will exceed $29 billion by 2027. In such a situation, the success of ISRO is significant. Noted industry leader Sunil Mittal has expressed confidence that ISRO will also compete with SpaceX, a leading company in the satellite launch market, given the situation created after the Ukraine conflict.
