Ukrainian President Zelensky holds talks with Indian Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi: As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine escalates, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke to the Prime Minister of India over the phone. A plan is being worked on to stop the fight between Russia and Ukraine and establish peace. It was reported that President Zelensky has said in this discussion that India’s role would be very important. The President of Ukraine himself gave this information on social media.

Russia has increased the intensity of its attack on Ukraine, and the cities of Ukraine have been in plight by the bombardment of Russian missiles, rockets and artillery. Meanwhile, Russia has targeted Ukraine’s power generation and distribution system, bringing about a dire crisis for the people of Ukraine in the harsh winter. However, European countries have accused Russia of prolonging the conflict instead of ending it. In such a situation, proposals have been made to Russia to stop this clash. But Russia does not seem ready for the response.

In such a position, it signals that the President of Ukraine tried to use India’s influence on Russia by calling the Prime Minister of India. Even earlier, Ukrainian leaders and diplomats had claimed that Russia would only listen to India. Hence, leaders and diplomats of Ukraine were appealing that India should use its influence on Russia to stop Russia’s attacks on Ukraine. However, while India had appealed to stop the conflict in Ukraine, it had also made Western countries, including Ukraine, aware of the need to protect Russia’s security interests.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs of India has also given the discussion between Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Zelensky. Prime Minister Modi assured the President of Ukraine that India would support all efforts to stop the war and establish peace in Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi presented India’s position to the President of Ukraine, saying both countries should stop the fight and find a sustainable way to solve this problem. He further said that only diplomatic talks would achieve this.
