Pakistan PM praises China dictator, Pak analysts slam

Islamabad: Pakistan PM Imran Khan praised Chinese autocracy. He claimed that China has placed a new option before the global political system. At the same time, he declared that he agrees with China’s claim; no atrocities are being committed against Uyghurs in the Xinjiang province. This claim by Khan has caused a sensation. Besides, his supporters have backlashed that the PM should have avoided this claim. Moreover, this statement of PM Khan proves that Pakistan is now entirely dependent on China to save itself from the United States.

So far, Imran Khan was known as a supporter of democracy. But, Imran Khan seems to favour dictatorship, as the contempt grows among Pak civilians, criticised the opposition. The Pakistan journalists have claimed that Khan has not realised that he indirectly targeted Pakistan’s democracy by praising the Chinese unilateral dictatorship. Furthermore, the journalists, who are staunch supporters of the Khan government, slammed that Pakistan lacks the spine; it accepted the Chinese claims about Uyghur Muslims as they were uttered.

PM Khan did show the nerve to refuse military base to the United States to attack the Taliban in Afghanistan. Moreover, so has started; including Pakistan in the list made by the United States of the countries that recruit boys under 18 in their army proves that. In future, the US pressure on Pakistan will increase tremendously and Imran Khan will get into trouble, the journalists claim. But, this will cause grave political and financial repercussions, the analysts warn. By increasing cooperation with China on all fronts, Khan is trying to save himself and his government.

Hence, while praising China highly, Imran Khan claimed that the Chinese state system has given a great option to democracy in the west. China’s financial progress and development are spectacular. However, criticism globally is that China did not develop its political ties despite such progress. China has received severe backlash on the issue of human rights and the pressure continues to rise. In such a situation, the Pak PM’s support to China’s unilateral dictatorship and the Uyghur issue has crushed the last remaining credibility of Pakistan. Pakistan may have to face its repercussions in future.
