Coronavirus cases in India cross 440,000

New Delhi/Mumbai: The number of Coronavirus deaths in the country has reached near 14,000, and the total number of cases has reached 440,000. On Monday, 9,300 new cases were reported from only three states of Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu. The number of cases in the states of Karnataka, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh is also increasing.

In 24 hours ending Monday morning, 445 Coronavirus deaths and 14,821 new cases were reported from the country. This has taken the total number of Coronavirus deaths in the country to 13,699 and the total number of cases near 440,000. In Maharashtra, 123 patients died, of which 66 were from Mumbai. The total number of Coronavirus cases in the state has reached 136,000.  

The number of Coronavirus cases in Delhi has crossed 62,000. On Monday, Delhi reported 59 deaths and 2,909 new cases. The number of Coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu also has passed 62,000, and the state reported 2,710 new cases. Until now, Coronavirus cases were predominantly found in urban areas. But now, as per reports, cases are being found even in the rural areas. Coronavirus cases have been found in 98 districts, hence increasing the concerns.  

Meanwhile, Coronavirus cases are increasing all around the world. Some countries are grappled with fears of a second wave. There has been a big increase in the number of cases in the United States and Brazil, following the relaxation of lockdown. 20% of the total number of cases reported, from around the world on Sunday, were from the United States alone. The United States reported 34,000 new cases in one single day and a similar number of cases were reported from Brazil too.
