More than 20 Pakistani soldiers killed in attack by Baloch rebels

Quetta/Islamabad: On Tuesday, a Pakistan military contingent came under an attack, in the Panjur district, 400 kilometres from the Baluchistan capital. It is being said that 8 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the attack. But the claims are that 20 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the attack. Baluchistan Liberation Front has accepted the responsibility for the attack. At the same time, the Baluchistan Liberation Front has warned that such attacks will continue on the Pakistan military, till Baluchistan gains independence.

At the end of last month, the Baloch Liberation Army carried out an attack on the Stock market in the Pakistani city of Karachi. This is the second major attack after that. Major Gwahram Baloch gave the information regarding the Panjur attack. Baluchistan Liberation Front informed that 20 Pakistani soldiers, including senior officials, were killed in the attack.  

Since May, the Baloch organisations have increased the intensity of attacks, on the Pakistan military. Pakistan military is meting out atrocities to the Baloch people. The Baloch organisations have initiated a conflict against these atrocities and have started launching forceful attacks on the Pakistan military, to teach them a lesson.  

A few days ago, Hussain Haqqani, former Pakistani Ambassador to the United States, had appealed to the international community, to take serious cognisance of the atrocities against Baloch people. Hussain Haqqani had made scathing criticism that the perpetrators of these atrocities are taking advantage of the small number of Baloch people. Attempt to attract the attention of the international community to the atrocities against the Baloch people had been made, even during a conference held in Paris.
