China President’s visit to Russia will not affect Russia-India relations – Russian ambassador to India assures

New Delhi – Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Russia during the conflict in Ukraine. The tour was very popular internationally. Due to this, the discussions between Russia and China were revealed to be with each other around the world. The US and other western countries have expressed serious concern over the support Russia is getting from China. At the same time, some analysts expressed concern that this cooperation between China and Russia would affect Russia’s strategic relations with India. Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov responded to the claims in this regard.

Moreover, to think that the Chinese President’s visit to Russia will affect the strategic cooperation between Russia and India is wishful thinking for some people because it cannot happen, the Russian ambassador has warned. Ambassador Alipov expressed his views on social media. The United States and the West were struggling to make India take a stand against Russia and in favour of the West in the Ukraine conflict. These western countries pointed out that Russia is a partner country of China. Yet India refused to go against Russia.

Against that background, the Russian ambassador targeted the West and its critics, saying that the Chinese President’s visit to Russia would undermine Russia’s strategic cooperation with India. No matter what happens, the Russian leadership has often assured that India will be the most important ally of Russia. Russian leaders also said that Russia’s cooperation with China would not affect Russia’s friendly relations with India. Not only this but while the tension between the Indian Army and the Chinese Army over the Ladakh LAC, Russia had also shown its readiness to supply the defence equipment required by India.
