China hits out at Japan, says stop sowing discord between China and other nations

Beijing: – Chinese foreign ministry demanded that Japan stop efforts to spoil Chinese relations with other countries and stop slandering about China. Last week, during the Two-Plus-Two talks with Indonesia, Japan had blamed China for the instability in the South China Sea region. The Japanese criticism without a direct mention seems to have become a cause of concern for China. Hua Chunying, the spokeswoman of the Chinese foreign ministry, said that Japan should follow the international conventions. The Japanese media should also stop the malicious campaigns inciting a conflict.

Hua Chunying, the spokeswoman of the Chinese foreign ministry, lashed out at Japan, saying that Japan should not make efforts to create misunderstandings between China and other countries. It should follow international criteria and stop criticising China. At the same time, should take concrete steps to safeguard the interests linked to the China-Japan relations.’ She also slammed the Japanese media at this time. Chunying advised the Japanese media to recognise their responsibility and behave morally. The Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman also warned that Japan should stop creating tension between the regional countries and stop the malicious campaigns.

Over the last few years, enormous tensions have been created between China and Japan. Japan has become aggressive against China, claiming rights on Japanese islands in the East China Sea, similar to rights claimed in the South China Sea. Japan has started targeting China consistently over Taiwan, Uyghurs, Hongkong, Myanmar, and the South China Sea. A Japanese Minister had openly accused that China is behind the military coup in Myanmar.

At the same time, Japan is taking steps to strengthen its ties with the Indo-Pacific region countries. These include increasing cooperation with India and Australia through QUAD, providing economic, diplomatic, and military assistance to the ASEAN member countries. China is becoming increasingly restless in view of these Japanese activities. Besides, the reaction received from the Chinese foreign ministry indicates the same sentiment.
