Chinese President’s Japan visit to get cancelled  

Tokyo/ Beijing: Tension between the Japan-China relation is on the verge of escalating furthermore due to the Hong Kong Security Law and frequent invasion in the Senkaku Islands. Against the background of China imposing law on Hong Kong, the Japanese ruling party has demanded to cancel Xi Jinping’s visit to Japan. Moreover, this visit to Japan was Xi Jinping’s attempt to fix its position in the international community, which got degenerated due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Besides, the cancellation of this visit can overthrow the plans of the Chinese ruling party.

The discomfort in Japan due to the security law imposed on Hong Kong by the Chinese communist regime is rising increasingly. Moreover, there are more than a thousand Japanese companies set in Hong Kong, and the Japanese products are also imported in Hong Kong at large.  Considering the Japanese companies, Japanese citizens and export, the changes in Hong Kong proved to be significant for Japan. Hence, a severe outrage happened in the Japan parliament over this Hong Kong issue. Besides, the demand for cancelling Jinping’s visit is also a part of this outrage.   

Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s Liberal Democratic Party has warned of proposing cancellation of Jinping’s visit. Moreover, it has emerged that the two committees of the party have also drafted the proposal. Japan cannot stay calm regarding the Hong Kong issue, and it is crucial to express the displeasure about it, clarified the parliament members in this draft. The members of the party also said that the resolution would be sent to the Prime Minister for consent after approval. Japanese Defence Minister Taro has expressed doubtfulness about Jinping’s Japan visit.   

Furthermore, the rising aggressive actions of China in the East China Sea are responsible for the China-Japan tension, apart from the Hong Kong issue. Two days ago, news surfaced that the Chinese patrol vessels tried to intrude in the Japanese Senkaku Islands. It is also claimed that these Chinese patrol vessels attempted to stop the Japanese fishing boats. The Chinese patrol vessels and warships have been trying to invade these Islands for more than two months. News has also surfaced that last month that a Chinese submarine dangerously patrolled near the Japanese border.  

Furthermore, Japan has deployed its defence forces near the border at large to counter the Chinese invasion. Japan has also deployed its helicopter carrier warships Kago in the region. Following this, Japan has also prepared its advanced air-defence system, ‘Patriot Missile Defence’ at its defence base. However, the persistent Chinese actions in Japan has caused a disturbance in the Japanese political circle.   

Moreover, issues such as Hong Kong and the Chinese movements in the East China Sea alongside the Coronavirus pandemic, militarization in the South China Sea, border conflict with India and the intensifying US-China conflict have added up to Japan’s disturbance. Against this background, the analysts claim that Jinping’s visit to Japan amid such situation can increase the internal and external disturbances in Japan.
