Japan condemns China’s patrols near Senkaku Islands

Camp Foster: A Chinese patrol boat intruded into the territorial waters of the Senkaku Islands, which are under Japanese jurisdiction. Japan has sternly warned that it will not tolerate this action of China. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has summoned the Chinese ambassador and reprimanded him for this matter.

Japan condemns China's patrols near Senkaku IslandsAccording to the Japanese Coast Guard, four Chinese patrol boats intruded into Japan’s territorial waters near Senkaku Islands in the morning two days ago. Japan’s Navy warned Chinese ships to withdraw from its sovereign waters. Nevertheless, Japan has warned that it will not tolerate this kind of intrusion of the Chinese patrol boats in the future.

It is the sixth incident of Chinese patrol boats intruding into Japan’s territorial waters in the last two months. Japan has control over the Senkaku Islands in the South China Sea. However, China has been challenging Japan’s authority in the area for the past few years, claiming its right over the Senkaku Islands and surrounding areas.
