Iran rebels hack websites and CCTV security cameras – Iran’s anti-regime rebellion leader visits Israel

Washington/ Jerusalem: – The Mujahedin-e-Khalq group, seeking democracy in Iran after liberating the country from the rule of Ayatollah Khamenei, carried out the most significant cyber attack in Iran on Thursday. The rebels hacked websites and 5,000 CCTV cameras linked to Iran’s regime. This has hampered Iran’s systems for some time. As the unrest continues in Iran, leaders of Iranian rebels based in the United States have arrived in Israel. The rebel leaders have demanded that Israel help revolt against the Ayatollah regime in Iran.

iran-rebels-cctv-hackIran‘s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been linked to a series of cyberattacks on Thursday. Ayatollah Khamenei’s photo was marked with a picture of the leader of the rebel group Mujahedin-e-Khalq. It included a photo of Masood Rajavi, the founder of the Khalq Association, and Maryam Rajavi, the current head of the organization. The websites also called for a revolt to overthrow Khamenei’s regime in Iran.  

Moreover, the rebels also claimed to have hacked nearly 5,000 CCTV cameras in the streets of the capital, Tehran. Neither the Iranian government nor military groups have commented on the matter. But a group of journalists in Iran admitted that such a cyber attack had taken place. This is the second cyber attack on the Iranian regime in the last five months. Earlier in January, the same rebel group seized Ayatollah Khamenei‘s website. Khamenei’s death was later reported to be false. It led to tensions in Iran.  

Meanwhile, a group of Iranian rebel leaders based in the United States arrived in Israel on Thursday as the rebel group Mujahedin-e-Khalq launched a cyber attack on Iran. The leaders called on Israel to help overthrow Khamenei’s regime in Iran. The rebel group claims to have launched an anti-regime movement that shook Iran in 2009.
