The time has come to establish the US Space Force; US Vice President, Mike Pence

Washington: “The time has come to write the next great chapter in the history of our armed forces, to prepare for the next battlefield to deter and defeat a new generation of threats. The time has come to establish the United States Space Force”, declared Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States.

Vice President Pence also said that the US Space Force will answer the nations which prove to be a threat to the United States’ interest in the space, such as China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. ‘China and Russia have been conducting highly sophisticated on-orbit activities, which could enable them to manoeuvre their satellites into close proximity of ours, posing unprecedented new dangers to our space systems’, claimed Vice President, Pence. ‘Moreover, these nations are seeking to disrupt our space-based systems and challenge American supremacy in space’, clarified Pence.

‘The nations from Russia to China, to North Korea and Iran, have pursued weapons to jam, blind and disable our navigation and communication satellites.’ He also said, ‘our adversaries have transformed space into a war fighting domain.’

Vice President Pence also reminded that Russia has designed an airborne laser to disrupt the US space based system and claims to be developing missiles that can be launched from an aircraft mid-flight to destroy American satellites.

America will always seek peace in space as on the earth, he added. “But, history proves that peace only comes through strength”, said Mike Pence justifying the establishment of the US Space Force. He also mentioned Trump’s stand of ‘Space Force All The Way!” which he tweeted two months ago regarding its establishment. This Space Force will be established in the next two years, said Vice President Pence.
