Elon Musk announces launch of xAI to develop a safe artificial intelligence based on human values

Washington: World’s top entrepreneur Elon Musk has announced his new startup ‘xAI’ to stop the rapid changes in the field of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and its possible fatal consequences. Musk claimed that his new company would take the initiative to develop AI technology that is safe and based on human values. In the last decade, Musk started an ‘Open AI’ company. However, he decided to part ways with the company in 2018 due to sharp differences.

In March, the US-based research group Future of Life Institute wrote an open letter to the international community about the dangers of artificial intelligence. There was an appeal to stop the big experiments, and research started in Artificial Intelligence for six months. It was supported by Elon Musk, who announced to develop a chatbot named ‘Truth GPT’.

Moreover, Musk’s announcement responds to ‘generative AI chatbots’ like ‘Chat GPT’ developed by ‘Open AI’ company. In the last few months, these major companies have also introduced their chatbots after ‘Chat GPT’, Microsoft and Google. There has been a strong discussion at the international level about the consequences caused by this technology, and the demand for framing rules and guidelines for ‘AI’ is gaining momentum.

Against this background, Musk has formed a new company by claiming to develop safe artificial intelligence based on human values. The company will consist of former executives and experts from top technology companies, including ‘Open AI’, ‘DeepMind’. Dan Hendricks, director of the Center for AI Safety, will be the principal advisor to xAI.
