Dacoits rob ornaments worth Rs 8 lakhs from passengers of Sainagar Express, injures 2 women

Shirdi: Sai Nagar Express, which runs between Shirdi to Kankinada in Andhra Pradesh, was robbed off at around 8 in the night. An FIR registered against the robbery that took place between Manmad and Ankai said that 7 to 8 dacoits looted ornaments worth 8 lakhs from passengers.

Sainagar-ExpressThe Sai Nagar Express, was stopped by pulling the chain, while it was moving from Manmad to Kankinada. When the railway staff got down from the train, as it stopped, dacoits hiding in the nearby bushes started pelting stones. 7 to 8 dacoits entered the different coaches in the resultant chaos and assualted the passengers. ‘Threatening women, they stole gold jewellery worth Rs 8 lakhs, and fled to the nearby jungle,’ said the passengers. After the robbery, the train was stopped at Nagarsul station. The angry passengers protested and demanded a solution from the police about their security. Two women passengers were injured in the assault during the robbery and are being treated in Aurangabad. In this case, an FIR has been lodged against 7 to 8 unidentified dacoits in the railway police of Aurangabad. This incident has brought the question of passengers` security to the fore.
