China warns Australia to beware of JapanA few days ago, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited Australia. During this visit, the Prime Minister of Japan met the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese and signed a new security agreement. According to this, the Japanese soldiers were to undergo training at the Darwin base in Australia. At the same time, a discussion was also held regarding cooperation in the intelligence systems of both countries. Analysts claimed an agreement was reached between Japan and Australia to limit China’s aggression in the Indo-Pacific region.

The western media said that this cooperation between Japan and Australia is challenging China’s dominance in the South and East China Sea. Some analysts have also claimed that Japan-Australia cooperation is very important as China’s military activities in Taiwan are increasing. For the past few months, the Prime Minister of Japan had raised the issue of Taiwan’s security and appealed to the countries of the Indo-Pacific region to unite. Australia also took a stance against China by highlighting the issue of Taiwan’s security. Against this backdrop, the said defence cooperation between Japan and Australia could challenge China’s policies towards Taiwan, the analysts said.

China warns Australia to beware of JapanThe Chinese Foreign Ministry strongly criticized the deal. But on Tuesday, China’s ambassador to Australia, Xiao Qian, tried to separate Australia from Japan by fearing history. For this, the Chinese ambassador referred to the Second World War and reminded that the then regime of Japan had launched air attacks on America and Britain’s ally, Australia. Qian warned not to cooperate with Japan, which killed Australian citizens in World War II.

Former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison took a very aggressive stance towards China. Under Morrison’s leadership, Australia held China responsible for the coronavirus. At the same time, Morrison had adopted the position of imposing additional taxes on Chinese products, accusing China of infiltrating Australia’s politics and education sector. Chinese leaders also began to boycott Australian leaders politically. This worsened the relations between the two countries. But there are reports that the current Prime Minister of Australia is trying to improve relations with Albanese China. Using this opportunity, China has warned Australia to withdraw from cooperation with Japan.
