China tests ‘Phantom Space Strike’ technology

Beijing: China has claimed to have tested a technology that tricks a country’s missile defence system before launching a nuclear attack on a rival country. The name of this technology is ‘Phantom Space Strike’. With the help of this technology, attacks can be launched by tricking the enemy’s air defence systems, researchers from the People’s Liberation Army said.

Moreover, China’s defence department informed that the test was conducted with the help of computer simulation. During the test, three small spacecraft were added to a ballistic missile. The three spacecraft separated from it when the missile entered space. From these spacecraft, fake signals were sent to the radars of the air defence system, indicating that they were being attacked by more than one missile. Following this, the air defence systems launched interceptors to shoot down the non-existent missiles. China’s People’s Liberation Army is said to be ready actually to test this technology soon. Chinese researchers have claimed that with the help of ‘Phantom Space Strike’, more missile attacks can be carried out on planned targets by reducing the capability of the enemy’s air security system. Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported this. There have been allegations from the US and other countries that China has been developing hazardous technologies for the space sector over the past few years. The claims about the new technology back these allegations.
