Washington: CIA Chief William Burns warned about the certainty of China attacking Taiwan. He stated that China is evaluating the setbacks faced by Russia in the Ukraine conflict and deciding when and how to launch an attack on Taiwan. Burns claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping would also consider economic uncertainties before deciding to attack Taiwan.

The CIA Chief claimed that Russia had faced a strategic failure in the Ukraine conflict. Russia thought the offensive military operation in Ukraine would be easy and quick to achieve its objectives. Burns said that Russia is now entangled in this conflict, and China will think about this before launching an attack on Taiwan. Burns claimed that China’s attack on Taiwan is inevitable considering the ambition of Chinese President Xi Jinping to annex Taiwan to China, which cannot be underestimated. Voices within the US have criticised the Biden administration’s uncertain policies, which stand to give an advantage to China. US analysts are warning that China would use this advantage to attack Taiwan.
