Canadian parliament honours Nazi veteran soldier – receives severe reaction from across globe

Ottawa: Accusing India of murdering Khalistani terrorist Nijjar has been a boomerang on the Prime Minister of Canada and has caused troubles for the Canadian government. In such a situation, Canada has made another big mistake. Yaroslav Hunka, a soldier who fought on behalf of the Nazi Party in World War II, was honoured after the speech of Ukrainian President Zelensky in the Canadian Parliament. The 98-year-old Nazi soldier was saluted after an applause in the House of Commons of Canada. After a strong reaction worldwide, the Speaker of the Parliament had to apologise in this matter.

Anthony Rota, Speaker of the House of Commons, took responsibility for the entire incident and apologised. ‘To Jews in Canada and worldwide, we regret that we decided to honour Hunka without obtaining adequate information.’ Rota tried to provide disclosure on this matter by saying that no one was informed about this earlier. However, clear indications are being received that his apology will not be easily accepted.

Jew organisations strongly criticise that the Canadian Parliament has insulted Jews worldwide by calling Hunka, who fought on the side of the Nazis, a hero in Ukraine and Canada. For this, an organisation of Jews has demanded that an apology be given to everyone who survived the atrocities committed in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany and to everyone who fought against the Nazi soldiers. The organisation has also said that there should be disclosure on how a soldier who fought for the Nazis reached the Canadian Parliament.

Meanwhile, Russian media have questioned how Hunka can be the hero of Ukraine and Canada. Even before this, Russian President Putin had alleged that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was a neo-Nazi despite being a Jew. Russia has said that these allegations have now been proven.
