Russian attack on Ukraine is the biggest crisis in Europe after World War II, slams international community

US President Joe Biden has warned that only Russia is responsible for the loss of human lives and the destruction caused by the attack. The United States and the United Kingdom and the European countries have indicated imposition of stringent sanctions against Russia.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that last night’s developments were decisive in European history. We will be united facing the war crisis peacefully, with a resolve. He also warned that Russia would have to face sanctions of the intensity equivalent to the attack on Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reacted, saying, ‘Putin has triggered destruction and trouble in a neighbouring country. The borders and sovereignty of Ukraine have been violated. He has threatened European security by threatening the lives of thousands of innocent civilians. This cannot be justified in any way. This is a war started by Putin.’  

Josep Borrell, chief of the foreign department of the European Union, expressed a concern that the Russian attack on Ukraine was the worst period since the second world war. Whereas, Ursula Von Der Leyen, President of the European Union, warned that Russian President Putin is responsible for pushing Europe in the gallows of war and sanctions will be imposed to destroy the Russian economy. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned that the Russian President had chosen the path of bloodshed and destruction and a major crisis could develop in Europe following this. NATO chief claimed that the attack on Ukraine was cold-blooded planned aggression. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg also claimed that moves had been initiated to shield the NATO members. The Turkish foreign ministry has reacted that this Russian attack violated international regulations. China has said that the Russian activities do not amount to an attack on Ukraine.
