Stephanie Al-Qaq, the British diplomat, participating in the nuclear negotiations, shared important information on social media. Stephanie Al-Qaq announced, ‘We are very close to a nuclear deal with Iran. The diplomats from ‘E3′, the United Kingdom, France and Germany are headed for their homeland for further preparations.’

Moreover, constructive discussions were held between Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Iranian Foreign Minister. Iranian foreign ministry announced that the negotiations for the last 11 months had reached the final stages. Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian clarified that he would also be travelling to Vienna to participate in the nuclear deal. But Iran warned that the western countries should not overlook the Iranian demands in a hurry to sign the nuclear deal.

The international media have started claiming that the agreement will be signed in the next week based on the indications given by the United States, European countries and Iran. But Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov presented Russia’s stand, which is also participating in the negotiations. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed out that the United States and the other western countries have imposed sanctions against Russia, given the Russia-Ukraine war going on for the last ten days.

Lavrov asked ‘The nuclear deal could have been properly executed. But a huge Iceberg of aggressive sanctions has been thrown at Russia by the western countries. In view of that, Russia wants further clarity from the western countries. Will the sanctions affect the Russian trade, military cooperation and investment with Iran?’

Lavrov said, ‘The United States should provide Russia with a written assurance that the sanctions will not pose problems for the nuclear deal. The westerners also should answer whether Russia and China will be allowed to assist Iranian civilian nuclear program following this agreement.’ International media are pointing out that Russia has cornered the United States, keen to sign the nuclear deal with Iran in this way.
