New Delhi: By asserting that the world needs a strong India, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov welcomed ‘INS Vikrant’. Ambassador Alipov congratulated India, saying that Russia is also proud of India’s success in building an indigenous aircraft carrier. British Ambassador Alex Ellis expressed his happiness by saying he got the opportunity to attend the ceremony of commissioning of ‘INS Vikrant’ in the Indian Navy. France has praised India for this achievement and claimed that INS Vikrant would sail along with its Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier in the Indo-Pacific region.
Moreover, Russia, the United Kingdom and France welcomed INS Vikrant. Israel also wished the Indian brothers for Vikrant. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the ceremony held in Kochi on Friday, announced that the commissioning of Vikrant would significantly enhance the capabilities of the Indian Navy.
Besides, the potential threats from the Indo-Pacific region have been neglected, but India will continue to enhance its naval capabilities without allowing this to happen. Prime Minister Modi assured that necessary funds would be provided for this purpose. Media and analysts have taken cognisance of this.
Furthermore, analysts claim that this second aircraft carrier in the fleet of the Indian Navy will threaten the Chinese ambitions in the Indian Ocean region as well as in the Pacific Ocean region. China has been planning the ‘Horn of Pearls’ strategic plan to encircle India for the past decade. For this, China started using the Indian maritime zone countries to capture their ports.
Meanwhile, China is still vying to take over the ports of Gwadar in Pakistan, Hambantota in Sri Lanka, Chittagong in Bangladesh and Sittwe in Myanmar. But India did not allow this plan for China to succeed. The Indian Navy has time and again made China aware of its might. Warships and submarines are being inducted into the Indian Naval fleet and through this, India is sending the right message to China. For this reason, claims are being made that the induction of INS Vikrant into the Navy reflects Indian confidence. Due to this, comments are being expected from the Chinese government and government analysts on this warship. This Indian warship weighs only 40,000 tons and Chinese warships are heavier than this, remarked a former editor of China’s Global Times. Still, India is flaunting its warship, which is a matter for China to learn from India, said the former editor of Global Times on social media.
