Indian External Affairs Minister and his Chinese counterpart hold talks in IndonesiaFor the past few days, reports had surfaced that the foreign ministers of India and China would meet during the conference in Indonesia. China is reportedly showing keen interest in talks at the political level with India. While India has warned the Chinese military deployment along the LAC in Ladakh is the biggest obstacle to bilateral cooperation. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar pointed out to China that soldiers from the countries cannot be involved in a standoff while establishing bilateral cooperation.

During the discussion in Indonesia, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar also raised this issue with China in a different language. Jaishankar has once again warned China that it could not improve relations without respecting each other and showing sensitivity and indifference to India’s interests. At the same time, China has drawn India’s ire by denying visas to Indian students. China’s decision has hit thousands of Indian students hard. Jaishankar also raised the issue during his talks with the Chinese foreign minister.

This led to an hour-long discussion that caught the attention of the Indian media. At the same time, India has delivered a clear message during the talks that India will not withdraw its demands and compromise on its stand. China is looking at India only as a marketplace and is not willing to consider India’s interests. But China should understand that India will no longer tolerate this carelessness of China. This fact is being brought to the notice of China in different ways by India. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar seems to have again shown the reality on the occasion of the G-20 conference in Indonesia.
