US President declares Qatar as a NATO ally

Washington: – US President Joe Biden has designated Qatar as a NATO ally. Biden has highlighted the reason for designating Qatar as a NATO ally for its role in the safe evacuation of troops and citizens during the time of US forces withdrawing from Afghanistan. Qatar is likely to get additional military aid from the United States as per the information received.

US President declares Qatar as a NATO allyAmir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, visited the United States on Monday and met President Biden at the White House. After the meeting, President Biden announced that Qatar was a good and trusted ally of the United States. After that, President Biden announced that Qatar would be a NATO ally country.   

Thus, it clears the hurdles for Qatar to purchase MQ-9 Ripper drones from the United States. Qatar had demanded these drones in 2020 when Donald Trump was the President. However, President Trump had not approved Qatar’s demand.    

Tensions on the Russia-Ukraine border are increasing, and the United States is claiming the Russian military to invade Ukraine at any time. In this scenario, there would be a major natural gas crisis in Europe if Russia could not meet the demand. Against this background, reports suggest that the United States had opened a dialogue with Qatar to fulfil the gas demands of the European countries. It is being said that the United States has awarded the status of NATO ally to Qatar just for this purpose.  

Qatar plays a vital role in the ongoing nuclear deal negotiated between the United States and Iran. A few days ago, the Foreign Minister of Qatar visited Iran to discuss the nuclear deal. As per reports, Amir Tamim would be visiting the United States with the demands made by Iran. It is claimed that the nuclear deal will soon be signed between the United States and Iran. President Biden has awarded the status to Qatar against this background.
