US launches drone attack on Iran-affiliated terrorist group in Iraq

Washington: A terrorist of the Iran-linked ‘Kataib Hezbollah’ group has been killed, and 24 people have been injured in a US drone attack on the Hashd al-Shaabi area of Iraq’s Babylon province. On Monday, three soldiers were injured when these terrorists attacked the US’s Erbil air base in Iraq. After this, the US shared information that President Joe Biden had given orders to respond to this terrorist organization.

Major air strikes took place on Tuesday morning in two provinces of Iraq, Babylon and Wasit. In these US attacks, the bases of Iran-affiliated terrorist organizations based in Iraq were targeted. The US informed that terrorist organizations based at these two bases are responsible for the attacks on US troops and their allies deployed in Iraq. The US had alleged that these attacks were carried out with Iran’s consent. However, Iran had rejected these allegations. The Iraqi government is also being criticized for being pro-Iran. Because of this, the Iraqi government was accused of showing indifference in investigating the attacks carried out on US targets by these Iran-backed terrorist groups.

Meanwhile, at least 100 attacks are claimed to have been carried out on US forces and airports present in Iraq and Syria since October. The US has not suffered much loss in these attacks. It has become clear that Iran is behind the Houthi terrorists who attacked commercial ships in the Red Sea. Criticism has emerged from the US that despite this, the US Biden administration has not taken action against those responsible for the attacks, the terrorists and their supporter, Iran.
